Roc Raida - The Adventures of Roc Raida...One Too Many!
The late X-Men legend takes listeners on a smoked-out hip-hop journey.
If you were as fortunate as we were to see Roc Raida do his thing with the turntables when he was alive, then you know how unbelievably important he was to the evolution of DJing, turntablism, and hip-hop culture in general. He was not only a member of the incredibly talented and innovative X-Men aka X-Ecutioners DJ crew, but he was also the 1995 DMC World Champion.
Plus, he was the man behind some of hip-hop’s illest scratch hooks, including O.C. “Time’s Up” and Big Pun’s RZA-produced posse cut with Prodigy and Inspectah Deck “Tres Leches,” a tour DJ for Kool G Rap, Busta Rhymes, and Lord Finesse, and even produced records for acts like Showbiz & A.G. and the Jungle Brothers.
Roc Raida released a few studio albums with the X-Ecutioners over the years, but he also would make mixtapes. The Adventures of Roc Raida…One Too Many! was officially released by Fat Beats, and it’s got it all. Storytelling, top-tier techniques, superior scratching, smoked-filled skits, and plenty of old school rap jams to properly educate the young and unfamiliar or take the old heads on a funky trip down memory lane.
Pay homage to one of the greatest DJs of all-time, the one-and-only Roc Raida. Rest In Beats.
