There weren’t a lot of female mixtape DJs in the ‘90s, but that didn’t phase Lazy K. After coming to NYC from overseas in the early part of the decade, she started making her presence felt on the hip-hop scene and putting it down with the tapes on the regular.
In ‘96, Lazy K released a gem of a mixtape titled Butta Mixin Rican Part 2, which featured a plethora of new songs, freestyles, diss tracks, custom-cooked blends, remixes, and more. And for the Wu heads, there was a heavy helping of Shaolin seasoning sprinkled throughout the tape.
Get ready for a trip down memory lane with the NYC mixtape queen—Lazy K. The “Butta Mixin Rican” concocts a fiery 90 minutes of mid-’90s hip-hop goodness, and her taste is exquisite.
